The Wellcem technical research and development team is comprised of a technician holding a master’s in chemistry and two PhD polymer chemists.
A portion of their day-to-day operation is spent testing and developing suitable designs for various downhole applications. Testing adheres to industry best practices to simulate downhole conditions and utilizes to a large degree standard oilfield testing equipment.
Analysis includes among others an evaluation of rheology and chemical reactivity of the liquid polymer as well as mechanical properties of cured ThermaSet®.
The Wellcem technical and operational team further collaborate and engage in custom testing to meet the client’s need for a comprehensive solution that addresses the unique criteria for each well.

Continued advancement of the technology expands on the already large knowledge base of the Wellcem team to help push the limits of the chemical and physical capabilities of ThermaSet® products.
The team is constantly developing new ways to enhance the properties and help broaden the scope of ThermaSet® applications. To do so, Wellcem manages numerous projects that are internally sourced, and also externally collaborates with reputable research institutions and consortiums. A number of these studies have been published and are documented in industry specific papers.
